Our Story

Yogia was born from a simple idea that has been growing for more than a decade.

While completing one of my first yoga teacher trainings, I envisioned creating a space where transformation felt accessible—a place where people could reconnect with themselves, whether in a physical studio, an outdoor gathering, or a shared experience.

The name Yogia became a reminder that transformation doesn't happen by becoming someone else. It happens by returning to who we've always been.

Our logo tells that story.

The sun represents hope—the quiet certainty that light always returns, even after the darkest seasons. The mountain symbolizes steadiness, reminding us to stay grounded in our values while continuing to grow.

Together, they reflect what Yogia stands for: resilience, possibility, and the belief that every season of life offers an opportunity to begin again.

Today, Yogia is more than a yoga community. It's a space where movement, mindfulness, Ayurveda, and meaningful connection come together to help people create lives that feel balanced, intentional, and deeply alive.

Meet Dorita

I've been practicing yoga since I was fourteen years old.

Over the years, yoga quietly became the thread connecting every chapter of my life. I completed multiple teacher trainings, built a fifteen-year career in the corporate world, traveled to India in search of spiritual understanding, and spent six years living in a Bhakti Yoga ashram in my hometown of Cali, Colombia.

Eventually, life invited me to make a different choice: to transform what had always been my greatest source of stability into my life's work.

Today I live in New York City with my husband, where I continue sharing yoga, ayurveda, retreats, rituals, and community experiences.

Everything I've lived has shaped the way I teach.

I don't believe wellness requires escaping reality.

I believe yoga should make us more capable of living it.

Our responsibilities don't disappear. Stress doesn't magically vanish. Life continues to ask things of us.

The practice simply helps us meet those moments with greater presence, resilience, and compassion.

My mission is to make ancient wisdom practical for modern life—offering sustainable practices that support busy humans without asking them to become someone they're not.

The Yogia Method

Transformation isn't a destination.

It's a way of living.

The Yogia Method isn't a rigid system or a step-by-step formula. It's a philosophy built on four principles that support lasting change through sustainable practices and evidence-informed tools that help regulate the nervous system, cultivate emotional resilience, and create balance in everyday life.

01
Ground

Create stability before seeking change.

02
Regulate

A calm nervous system changes everything.

03
Integrate

Wellness should fit your life—not the other way around.

03
Flourish

Growth isn't about perfection.
